Position Summary

UICCU is now taking applications for the Financial Services Representative role. As an FSR you will work in tandem with other branch staff to deliver outstanding service to our members and proactively promote our superior credit union products on a daily basis.  Come be a part of our team and be rewarded for your high quality work!

 

Position details:

Monday through Friday from 8:45 am - 5:45 pm, plus 3 out of 4 Saturdays from 9:00 am - Noon.

Pay range for this hourly position is $12.13 - $17.95 with a monthly incentive opportunity and a progressive benefits package. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change:

  1. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
  2. Demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times.
  3. Ensures confidentiality of member account records and account information.  Request identification whenever necessary and provide account information to only those members listed as primary or joint owners.
  4. Answers member questions or refer members to appropriate departments or supervisors.
  5. Assists with member account discrepancies, statement problems, and complaints.
  6. Performs member transactions including; deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing, loan payments, credit card payments, cash advances, bond redemptions, disbursement of official checks, sale of money orders, cashier checks, savings bonds, and promotional sales materials.
  7. Maintains a satisfactory balancing record.
  8. Educates members and staff of the features and benefits of all of our products and services.
  9. Refers products and services that benefit members in an effort to achieve team goals.
  10. Provides assistance in training new employees.
  11. Accepts and examines checks for endorsements and negotiability.  Determine availability of funds based on regulations and policy.  Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds when necessary, provide member with the proper documentation.
  12. Operates drive-up equipment such as tubes, drawer, and microphone.
  13. Operates imaging equipment and balance outgoing image files on a daily basis.
  14. Processes mail and night deposit transactions.
  15. Completes all forms including: negotiable instrument logs, vault cash advances/turn-ins, direct deposit, payroll deduction, and member check orders.
  16. Participates in all day-end closing procedures.  Secure and balance cash drawer/key and all negotiable instruments, clean the FSR area and turn off all equipment (computers, copier, adding machines, lights).
  17. Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or Credit Union sponsored events on an annual basis.

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend to phones in FSR area and answer basic membership calls;
  • Perform clerical work such as filing;
  • Maintain professional correspondence with members;
  • Maintain and update member information on the computer system, such as address, phone number, and employment information.

 

FSRs may also be responsible for the following duties, as assigned:

 

  1. Acts as a leader; assist other FSRs as a mentor and role model.
  2. Assists FSRs with daily work including balancing and reconciliation of offages.
  3. Monitors and manage the vault including cash disbursements, balancing, and end of day lock-up.  Ensure that sufficient, but not excessive, funds are on hand at all times.
  4. Ensures the completion of day-end procedures including securing the vault, daily cash letter, and distribution of work to appropriate Credit Union personnel and departments.
  5. Assists in security procedures.  Has access to and is accountable for office keys and combinations.
  6. Balances, maintains, and corrects the coin machine.  Prepares and tags coin bag deposits and post to the appropriate GLs.

  3. Thorough knowledge of deposit products and regulations.
  4. Completion of the Service Blocks Program within designated deadlines.
  5. Accuracy in the handling of cash, recording daily transactions, and attention to detail.
  6. Good oral communication skills and the ability to produce written communication.
  7. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  8. Good telephone manners and techniques.
  9. Ability to use and understand written material.
  10. Ability to work with minimal direction and exercise sound judgment.
  11. Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  12. Member account problem-solving skills.
  13. Proficiency with related computer applications, spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications.
  14. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  15. High school diploma or the equivalent (i.e. GED).
  16. Cash handling, sales, and customer service experience desired.
  17. Must be bondable.
  18. Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand.
  19. Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the Vice President/Branch Sales and Service Managers as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is not responsible for supervision of other employees.
