    UICCU is now taking applications for a Mortgage Final Title Processor. This position requires a stable, precise, hard worker, who will strive to do their best on every project.     Pay Range: $14.36-$21.54

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change.


    1. Adheres to the Credit Union's core values in serving with truth, trust, mentoring, openness, risk-taking, communication, giving credit, integrity, caring, and respect in carrying out the UICCU's mission and vision.
    2. Demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times, greeting members and guests with a smile and eye contact immediately upon their arrival.  Consistent usage of the members name during contact and always thanking them for their business.
    3. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
    4. Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or Credit Union sponsored events on an annual basis.
    5. Ensures confidentiality of member information.
    6. Supports the process of analyzing and posting mortgage final title policies/insurance and trailing documentation.
    7. Assists with submitting orders with attorneys to ensure prompt delivery of Title Opinion/Guaranty/Policy/Insurance after closing.
    8. Assists with maintaining all post-closing abstracting and title guaranty documents that are saved in the loan origination system (currently Encompass).
    9. Assists with ordering final title policies through Iowa Title Guaranty directly with Iowa Finance Authority, when applicable.
    10. Assists with verifying accuracy and sending all final trailing documentation to secondary market investors after Title Guaranty/Policy/Insurance is received or for the completion of in-house mortgage loans.
    11. Assists with mailing owner's title policies/insurance and/or deeds to borrowers, when applicable.
    12. Assists with ensuring all individual invoices for abstracting and attorney fees are paid in full after closing.  If there is a discrepancy, assists with research and resolution of funds.
    13. Assists with mailing abstracts to members or sending abstracts for storage as they are received by UICCU with Final Title Opinion/Policy/Insurance.
    14. Provides support to track abstract storage and receipts.
    15. Provides support to maintaining overall organization of pending and completed final title work to ensure prompt receipt and delivery.
    16. Provides support to final title policies/insurance tracking report in loan origination system.
    17. Provides support to organization of all mortgage files with pending final title work and work with the respective examining attorney to cure outstanding liens.
    18. Provides support and assistance with various projects within the mortgage department.
    19. Files all closed loan files alphabetically.
    20. Provides assistance to Mortgage Final Title Specialist, when needed, to create TOS/TOB transfers to new investors on a daily basis.
    21. Provides assistance to Mortgage Final Title Specialist, when needed, to coordinate loans in the MERS system being assigned back to the University of Iowa Community Credit Union (as necessary).
    22. Provides assistance to Mortgage Final Title Specialist, when needed, to run weekly reports in the MERS system to ensure all newly purchased loans have been assigned to the new investor.
    23. Attends seminars and conferences to maintain and learn about any new legal additions, deletions, and/or corrections to title guaranty documents.
    24. Maintains Iowa Title Guaranty requirements.

    Job Requirements/Expectations

    1. Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand. 
    2. Interpersonal skills to represent the Credit Union in a positive way during member contact.
    3. Interpersonal skills necessary to gather data from a number of sources and to represent positively the Credit Union during such contacts.
    4. Ability to provide quality service to members by phone or in person.
    5. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
    6. Ability to prioritize assignments and organize work efficiently, to handle large volumes of details.
    7. Ability to operate related computer applications, an on-line terminal and other standard office equipment such as a calculator and typewriter.
    8. Accuracy and attention to detail required.
    9. Lending policies and Real Estate knowledge preferred.
    10. Knowledge of real estate title policy preferred.
    11. High school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED.) with at least one (1) year of experience within the mortgage industry or related legal work.
    12. Must be bondable.

    Reporting Relationship

    Reports to the Mortgage Loan Sales and Support Officer

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position is not responsible for the supervision of other employees.
