  • Position Summary

    UICCU is currently looking for someone to fill the position of Credit Analyst. This job requires an analytical, accurate, perfectionist, who enjoys doing the "little things" that are required to make a company successful. The Credit Analyst is responsible for analysis and monitoring the credit worthiness of the commercial portfolio.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change:


    1. Adheres to the Credit Union's core values in serving with truth, trust, mentoring, openness, risk-taking, communication, giving credit, integrity, caring, and respect in carrying out the UICCU's mission and vision.
    2. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with co-workers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
    3. Provides the highest level of internal and external customer service.
    4. Ensures confidentiality of member information.
    5. Plays a vital role by participating in community service organizations and/or credit union sponsored events, on an annual basis.
    6. Adheres to all state, federal and credit union regulations, policies and guidelines.
    7. Spreads and analyzes audited, reviewed and company prepared financials in addition to corporate and personal tax returns and personal financial statements.
    8. Prepares cash flow charts, test covenants, and determine collateral coverage position.
    9. Assists the Commercial Lenders and Underwriters in obtaining and analyzing current financial/collateral information on existing loans for the purpose of conducting periodic reviews to determine the ongoing credit worthiness of the borrower.
    10. Manages the timely receipt of financial statements from the relationship management teams.
    11. Requests quotes on appraisals, and engage the said appraisal reports. Obtain both personal and business Experian credit reports.
    12. Reviews commercial and 1-4 family appraisals, prepare a comprehensive review of appraisal reports.
    13. Tracks daily loan and change in terms activity via an Excel Spreadsheet to measure underwriting volume.               
    14. Develops analysis of market data in the markets that UICCU serves. Prepares a narrative, one market per quarter, presenting to Charge-Off Committee and Commercial staff.
    15. Develops a working knowledge of credit administration, policy and procedures.
    16. Maintains credit files in accordance with guidelines, work with Commercial Lenders and Underwriters to insure that all necessary documentation is in the file.
    17. Researches and responds to internal (co-worker) and, occasionally, external (member or authorized third party) requests for financial information on commercial members.

    Job Requirements/Expectations

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics is required.
    2. Experience working in a financial organization is preferred.
    3. Ability to coordinate and prioritize assignments and organize work efficiently. Good time management skills required to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a time sensitive environment.
    4. Excellent figure aptitude, with accuracy and attention to detail required.
    5. Knowledge of procedures, forms and regulations as they relate to commercial lending.
    6. Ability to deal tactfully and efficiently with members and co-workers on a professional level.
    7. Experience working in commercial credit environment is preferred.
    8. Proficiency in a wide variety of personal computer software programs, including the Microsoft Office application suite.
    9. Ability, availability and willingness to work additional hours as dictated by the workload.
    10. Strong analytical skills with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    12. Maturity and discretion to handle confidential information and safeguard members’ funds
    13. Must be bondable.

    Reporting Relationship

    Reports to the Commercial Services Vice President of Credit Administration.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position is not responsible for the supervision of other employees.
