    Pay Range for this hourly position is $14.36 - $21.54 with a progressive benefits package.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change:


    1. Adheres to the Credit Union's core values in serving with truth, trust, mentoring, openness, risk-taking, communication, giving credit, integrity, caring, and respect in carrying out the UICCU's mission and vision.
    2. Demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times, greeting members and guests with a smile and eye contact immediately upon their arrival, using their name or acknowledging them, and thanking them for their business.
    3. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
    4. Ensures confidentiality of member information.
    5. Performs daily transactions such as posting of loan payments, disbursing checks, deposits, and withdrawals.
    6. Maintains members’ account records in an accurate, thorough and confidential manner.
    7. Maintains routine correspondence with and for members and staff; includes processing of necessary disclosures and decline letters.
    8. Orders verifications of employment, appraisals, property condition reports, title and post-closing searches, and flood reports.
    9. Reviews and approves home equity title search reports.  Makes decisions regarding documentation needed to clear judgments and outstanding items, and corresponds with lender and other businesses as needed.
    10. Reviews, approves, and makes decisions regarding verification of income documents when the loan is not otherwise required to be submitted to the Retail Underwriting team.
    11. Prepares and delivers home equity closing documents, including required supporting documentation.
    12. Files mortgage and property-related documents promptly, with the county or state recording office.
    13. Tracks maturing home equity loans; communicates with members and lending staff as required.
    14. Tracks, prepares, and files mortgage release documents and reports.
    15. Reviews, approves, and logs subordination requests from other financial institutions/mortgage companies.
    16. Assists AE to ensure home equity loan files meet all applicable internal, state, and federal regulation requirements prior to or at closing.
    17. Finalizes home equity loan applications by creating loans on borrower accounts in the core system and dispersing the loan proceeds to borrowers, other financial institutions, and businesses as instructed.  Corresponds with Account Executives/MSRs and assists with resolving any delays in funding. 
    18. Perfects and verifies flood and property insurance requirements on second mortgages, and corresponds with Account Executives/MSRs, insurance companies, and members for changes and updates. 
    19. Maintains and documents loans not received and error logs.  Generates periodic exception reports of these items and advises management and Account Executives/MSRs as required. 
    20. Assists in obtaining member’s signatures and missing documentation in a timely manner.
    21. Processes GAP, MBP, and Paybreak claims, payments, cancellations, and refunds and assists members and staff with questions. Corresponds with vendors as needed to process claims, resolve issues, and answer questions.
    22. Researches, processes, and adjusts loan accounts, member account discrepancies and statement problems as necessary. Includes returned check and ACH payments provided by Accounting
    23. Assumes an “audit” function for all retail loans, pre and/or post funding.  Performs routine audits on retail loans for both underwriting and documentation, and reports both results/findings and trends to the Internal Audit department to be included in branch audit reports.
    24. Prepares documents for scanning and indexing.
    25. Corresponds with other financial institutions and insurance agencies to process letters of guarantee, payoff requests, and verifies loans and member accounts.
    26. Posts general ledger entries, as well as balances related general ledger accounts.
    27. Supports staff, members, and other financial institutions through prompt attention to group and individual requests for assistance.
    28. Processes loan maintenance and contacts members regarding SCRA requirements.
    29. Processes Merchant Lending loans, including but not limited to: corresponding with merchant business partners regarding missing and received documents, reviewing loan documentation for accuracy and completeness, opening new membership accounts, verifying income documents, creating loans on borrower accounts, dispersing funds to merchants, and balancing related general ledgers.
    30. Processes Live Check loans by verifying signatures, creating loans on borrower accounts, and balancing related accounts and general ledgers.
    31. Performs maintenance and communicates with vendors regarding other UICCU-related loan programs, including but not limited to Student Choice.
    32. Generates, works, and files routine reports regarding loan maintenance.
    33. Assists in various departmental functions as directed and assigned.  Functions may include, but are not limited to:
      - Assists in the training for new Retail Processor as necessary
      - Participates and assists in departmental training sessions
      - Performs general file maintenance on accounts
      - Assists in general collection work
      - Assists in the processing of periodic reports
      - Performs clerical duties including general filing and processing of mail transactions

    34. Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or Credit Union sponsored events, on an annual basis.

    Job Requirements/Expectations

    1. Interpersonal skills to represent the Credit Union in a positive manner.
    2. Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand.  Job may require a non-traditional workweek including evening and /or weekend duties.
    3. Accuracy in recording daily transactions. Attention to detail.
    4. Ability to prioritize work assignments and organize work efficiently to handle large volumes of details.
    5. Good oral communication skills and the ability to produce written communication.
    6. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
    7. Good telephone manners and techniques.
    8. Proficiency with related computer applications, spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications.
    9. Ability to use and understand written material.
    10. Ability to perform basic math calculations.
    11. Member account problem-solving skills.
    12. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
    13. High school diploma or the equivalent (i.e. GED).
    14. Requires less than one year of related experience in a credit union or similar financial institution.
    15. Must be bondable.

    Reports to Retail Processing Supervisor

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position is not responsible for the supervision of other employees.
